Rnd 1: With baby pink, ch 3, join in first ch to form a ring, join in beg sc, leaving a 6-inch length, fasten off. Thread a double strand of silver gray mix on yarn needle, embroider a straight stitch (see illustra

tion) vertically over center of Eye.

FACIAL FEATURES

Sew Eyes 1 inch apart over rnd 6 of Hat. For Nose, sew heart-shaped button center below Eyes over rnd 7 of Hat. Using photo as guide, thread double strand of baby pink on yarn needle, embroider straight stitch Mouth and Whiskers.

Braid

Cut 5 pieces each silver gray mix and baby pink each 36 inches long. Holding all strands tog, fold in half. Insert crochet hook from WS to right side at the tip of the left Earflap. Draw all 10 strands through st to form lp on hook, draw all strands through lp, pull ends tightly. Divide yarn in 3 sections and braid strands. Secure ends with either color yarn and trim ends evenly.

With front of foot facing forward, sew top of Leg closed working from front to back. Outer Ear

Rows 1–4: With 1 strand of silver gray mix, rep rows 1–4 of Inner Ear.

Joining

Holding Inner Ear and Outer Ear section tog, with Inner Ear facing, join 1 strand of silver gray mix in side edge of row 1, working through both thicknesses, ch 1, work 5 sc evenly sp up side, 3 sc in sc of row 5, 5 sc down opposite edge of row. Fasten off. Sew Ears 11/2 inches apart to center top of Head over rnd 12.

FINISHING

For nose, sew heart-shaped button centered between Eyes between rnds 2 and 3 of Head. Using photo as a guide, with 2 strands baby pink, embroider mouth directly below nose. Tie pink ribbon around neckline of Cat.

Whiskers Make 2.

Cut 3 strands baby pink yarn each 6 inches long. Holding all strands tog, fold in half. Insert crochet hook from WS to RS in side of face. Draw all strands through st to form lp on hook, draw all strands through lp, pull ends tight. Trim ends even.
