FINISHED MEASUREMEN­TS 10 inches in diameter across top x 6 inches tall MATERIALS • Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/364 yds/ 198g per skein): 1 skein #319 cherry red 5 yds #311 white 3 yds #406 medium thyme • Sizes H/8/5mm and K/101/2/6.5mm crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle • Red and green sewing thread and sewing needle for sewing down woven-in ends and for adding bead • 8mm red crystal bead for center

(available at plant nurseries) • Stitch marker GAUGE Size K hook: Rnds 1–4 = 4 inches PATTERN NOTES Pot is worked holding 2 strands of yarn together. Divide 1 skein in half to create 2 equal 31/2-ounce balls. Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. SPECIAL STITCH Shell: 5 dc in indicated st.

FLOWERPOT To begin: With K hook and 2 strands (see Pattern Notes) red held tog, ch 4, join (see Pattern Notes) in first ch to form a ring. Do not ch 1. Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring, join in beg sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in every sc around, join in beg sc. (16 sc)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc] around, join in beg sc. (24 sc)

Rnd 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc] around, join in beg sc. (32 sc)

Rnd 5: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc] around, join in beg sc. (40 sc)

Rnd 6: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc] around, join in beg sc. (48 sc)

Rnd 7: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc] around, join in beg sc. (56 sc)

Rnd 8: Sc around. Do not join. Mark beg sc of rnd and move marker up as you work.

Rnds 9–13: Sc around. Rnd 14: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 13 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc] around. (60 sc) Rnd 15: Sc around. Rnd 16: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 9 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 9 sc], join in beg sc. (66 sc) Rnd 17: Sc around. Rnd 18: Sc around, join in beg sc. Rnd 19: Ch 1, sc in first sc. *Sk 2 sc, shell (see Special Stitch) in next sc, sk 2 sc**, sc in next sc.* Rep from * to * around ending at ** on last rep. Join in beg sc. Rnd 20: Ch 1, sc in same sc and in each dc and each sc around, working (sc, ch 2, sc) in center dc of each shell. Join last sc to first and fasten off. Weave in and sew down ends on inside of basket. FLOWER With medium thyme and size H hook, ch 4, join in first st to form a ring. Do not ch 1 to beg rnd 1.

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring. Join and fasten off. With white, draw up a lp in front lp of any sc and ch 1. Rnd 2: Working in front lps (see

Stitch Guide), work (sc, ch 3, sc) in each sc around. Join and ch 2. Rnd 3: Working behind rnd 2, in

back lps (see Stitch Guide) of each sc, work (sc, ch 5, sc) in each back lp around. Join in beg sc and fasten off leaving a 10-inch tail for sewing. Weave in and sew down all ends (except tail) of yarn on back of flower with matching thread. Position Flower at front of Pot below and between 2 shells. Stitch onto basket with white tail through sc of rnd 3 of flower. Sew bead on with a needle and green thread to center of flower. LEAF Make 2. With medium thyme, leaving a 4-inch tail to beg, ch 7.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch. Hdc in next 3 chs, sc in last ch. Fasten off leaving a 4-inch tail. Position at side of Flower and pull tails through to inside of Pot. Tie tails to a st on inside of pot. Weave in ends through red sts and then sew down to secure with green thread. CW
