PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

ORGANIZER HEAD SIDE

Make 2.

Row 1 (RS): Beg at bottom of Head, with size F hook and blush, ch 8, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 5 chs, 2 sc in last ch, turn. (9 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each st across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn. (11 sc) Rows 3–7: Rep row 2. (21 sc) Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Row 9: Rep row 2. (23 sc) Rows 10 & 11: Rep rows 8 and 9. (25 sc)

Rows 12–20: Rep row 8. Row 21: Ch 1, sc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 2 sc, sc in each sc across to last 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, turn. (23 sc) Row 22: Rep row 8.

Rows 23–30: [Rep row 21] 8 times. At the end of row 30, fasten off. (7 sc)

CROWN

Rnd 1: Thread 21 beads on 2 strands of sunkissed using tapestry needle, knot yarn tail, working yarn tog to form a ring. Insert F hook under ring between first and last bead, yo with working yarn, draw up lp, ch 3, sk first bead, insert hook under ring between first and 2nd bead, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through both lps on hook, ch 2, continuing in same manner [sc between next beads, ch 2] around, join (see Pattern Notes) in first ch of beg ch-3. (21 sc)

Rnd 2: Rotate work upside down so last rnd is on underside of beads, ch 1, working in opposite side of last rnd, insert hook through post of first sc of rnd, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through both lps on hook, ch 2, [sc through post of next st between beads, ch 2] around, join in beg sc.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same sc as beg ch-1, sc in next ch sp, [sc in next st, sc in next ch sp] around, join to beg sc of rnd. (42 sc) Rnds 4 & 5: Ch 1, working in back lp (see Stitch Guide) of sts, sc in each st around, join to beg sc.

Rnd 6: Ch 1, [sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, remove lp from hook, insert size 6 steel hook through 1 bead, pick up dropped lp and draw lp through bead on hook, remove lp from hook and with size F hook, pick up dropped lp, 3 dc in same st as last 3-dc group, sk 2 sts, sl st in next st] around, sl st in same st as beg ch-1. (42 dc, 7 sl sts)

ASSEMBLY

Rnd 1: With WS of Head sections tog and working through both thicknesse­s, with size F hook, join blush in first sc of row 30, ch 1, sc in each of next 7 sts, work 29 sc evenly sp in ends of rows to foundation ch, working in opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each of next 7 chs, insert cardboard circle between layers, lightly stuffing front of Head with fiberfill before closing, (back of Head is not stuffed to hang flat against wall), work 29 sc evenly sp in ends of rows to top of Head, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (72 sc)

HAIR

Cut 80 mocha strands each 56 inches long. Tie hair in center and 4 inches away from center on each side using 12-inch strand of mocha for each tie. Use tails of ties to sew hair to top center front and sides of face. Evenly divide strands in 3 groups and braid on each side of Head. Use mocha to tie bottom ends of braids. Wrap

4 strands sunkissed 3 times around bottom mocha tie, tightly knot on WS of braid and trim ends as desired. To create bangs, wrap a strand of mocha 10 times around 3 fingers. Remove from fingers and tie in center with 12-inch strand. Use ends of tie to sew bangs to center front of hair. Center crown on top of Head, use tapestry needle and sunkissed to tack crown to Head.

HAIR BOW Make 2.

With size F hook and 2 strands sunkissed, ch 35, fasten off. Tie in a small bow. Thread a length of sunkissed on tapestry needle and sew Hair Bow to each side of hair above braiding and sew 1 pink bead to center of bow.

EYES

Thread tapestry needle with 12-inch length of blush and beg on WS of Head, insert needle through Head from back to front where desired on face, insert needle through eye button and through face to WS of Head, pulling yarn tightly to indent face. Knot ends, rep for 2nd eye button.

CHEEKS

Use cotton swab to lightly apply powder blush to cheek area of face as desired.

Hanging Loop

With sunkissed, form a short hanging lp and sew to back of Head.

Turn leftover DKweight scraps into a cute princess with long braids to hold your little girl’s hair clips and barrettes.
