• Cascade Yarns Alpaca Lace super fine (fingering) weight baby alpaca yarn (13/4 oz/437 yds/ 50g per skein): 1 skein #1409 Caribbean
heather • Size H/8/5mm crochet hook • Tapestry needle • Size 8/0 light blue beads: 3/4 oz or
approximately 870 beads • Beading needle • Blocking board • Rustproof straight pins

Gauge is not important for this project.
PATTERN NOTES
Wind 2 balls from skein. Hold 1 strand from each ball together throughout. To prevent thinning or breakage as beads are slid, thread 100–150 beads on 1 strand. After beads are worked off this strand, cut other strand of yarn and thread next set of beads on that strand. Alternate sets of beads on each strand as work proceeds. When working bead single crochet, tighten tension slightly so bead is secured on back side of Scarf. Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-5 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet and chain-2 unless otherwise stated. Chain-4 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated.
Bead single crochet (bead
sc): Insert hook in indicated st, draw up a lp, slide bead to hook at back side of work, inc tension slightly, yo, draw through both lps on hook. Large petal stitch (large petal st): ( Bead sc— see Special Stitches, [ch 4, bead sc] 3 times) in indicated st or sp. Beginning V-st (beg V-st): ( Ch 4— see Pattern Notes, dc) in indicated st or sp.
V-stitch (V-st): (Dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated st or sp. Ending V-stitch (ending V-st): Dc in ch-5 sp, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. Small petal stitch (small petal st): (Bead sc, ch 4, bead sc) in indicated st or sp.
SCARF
Getting needle, 100–150 thread started: beads 1 strand (see With Pattern with beading Notes). Row 1: With 1 strand from each ball held tog (see Pattern Notes) ch 25, dc in 5th ch from hook (beg 4 sk chs and dc count as first V-st), [ch 3, sk next 4 chs, large petal st (see Special Stitches) in next ch, ch 3, sk next 4 chs, V-st (see Special Stitches) in next ch] twice, turn. (3 V-sts, 2 large petal sts) Row 2: Ch 5 (see Pattern Notes), small petal st (see Special
Stitches) in first ch-1 sp, ch 3, V-st in center ch-4 sp of next large petal st, ch 3, large petal
st in ch-1 sp of V-st, ch 3, V-st in center ch-4 sp of next petal st, ch 3, small petal st in beg ch-4 sp, ch 2, dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-4, turn. (2 dc, 2 V-sts, 1 large petal st, 2 small petal sts, 2 ch-2 sps)

cial Stitches) in first ch-2 sp, ch 3, large petal st in next V-st, ch 3, V-st in center ch-4 sp of next large petal st, ch 3, large petal st in last V-st, ch 3, ending V-st (see Special Stitches), turn. (3 V-sts, 2 large petal sts) Rep rows 2 and 3 until Scarf measures 40 inches or desired length, ending with row 3.
Last Row: Ch 1, bead sc in first dc of first V-st, *ch 4, bead sc in first ch-4 sp of next large petal st, ch 4, bead sc in last ch-4 sp of same large petal st, ch 4, bead sc in next V-st, rep from * across, working last bead sc in 3rd ch of beg ch-4. Fasten off.
