• Size 7/1.65mm steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

DOILY FIRST MOTIF
Rnd 1 (RS): With white, form slip ring (see illustration), ch 1, (sc in ring, ch 3) 8 times, draw beg end tightly to close ring, join (see Pattern Notes) in beg sc. (8 sc, 8 ch-3 sps)
Rnd 2: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), 2 dc in same ch-3 sp as beg ch-3, 3 dc in each rem ch-3 sp around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (24 dc) Rnd 3: Ch 3, fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around same st as beg ch-3, [dc in next dc, fpdc around same dc] around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (24 dc, 24 fpdc)

Rnd 5: Join denim in top of next fpdc, ch 1, fpsc (see Stitch
