PATTERN NOTES

Refer to diagrams as needed. Chain spaces on final round are numbered in the order they are made. Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Pattern consists of 6 different motifs: Top Bullion, Circle, Flower, Lower Bullion, Edging Bullion and 5-Petal. All motifs are worked in a “join as you go” method. While 1 motif, called the working motif, is being completed on its last round, it will be joined to other adjacent motifs in the shawl. All joining rounds and edgings are done in same color as working motifs. Join with slip stitch unless otherwise stated. Chain-3 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch unless otherwise stated. Chain-4 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated. Chain-5 at beginning of round counts as first treble crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated. Chain-6 at beginning of round counts as first half double crochet and chain-4 unless otherwise stated. Chain-7 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet and chain-4 unless otherwise stated. Ending with chain-2, double crochet at end of round counts as chain-4 space unless otherwise stated.

Ending with chain-3, double crochet at end of round counts as chain-5 space unless otherwise stated. Ending with chain-4, double crochet at end of round counts as chain-6 space unless otherwise stated. Ending with chain-3, treble crochet at end of round counts as chain-7 space unless otherwise stated.
