• Premier Home Cotton medium (worsted) weight cotton/polyester yarn (23/4 oz/140 yds/80g per ball): 6 balls #38-13 pastel blue 1 ball each #38-01 white, #38-06 orange, #38-07 cranberry, #38-15 sage and #38-14 Christmas green • Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCHES

First foundation double crochet (first foundation dc): Ch 2, yo, insert hook into 2nd ch from hook (see illustrati­on A), yo, pull up lp, yo, draw through 1 lp on hook (see illustrati­on B—ch-1 completed), [yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] twice (see illustrati­ons C–E—dc completed).

Next foundation double crochet (next foundation

Shell

Vine

Leaving a 5-inch tail, with green, ch 10, sl st in 5th ch from hook, ch 5, fasten off, leaving 5-inch tail.

FINISHING

Hold WS of appliqué to RS of towel in bottom right corner or where desired and sew in place. Referring to photo, with 5-inch tails, sew Vine to top of Shell.

Hanging Loop

Join blue in 10th st from top right corner of Towel. Sl st in next 2 sts, ch 5, sk next 4 sts, sl st in last 3 sts. Fasten off.
