FINISHING

With RS facing, join yarn with sl st in corner to work along long side; ch 1, sc evenly across long side, sl st in next corner and fasten off. Rep for 2nd long side. To make cables, start with a ch lp on row 2 of border—turn it a half twist clockwise. *Take ch lp directly above current lp on next row of border, turn it a half twist clockwise, from back to front, pass through current ch lp. Rep from * up, leaving last ch lp free to hold tassel.

Rep with each rem column of ch lps.

Cut 12 10-inch strands for each ch lp on each short end. Pull strands halfway through a ch lp to form tassel. Use a 12-inch strand of yarn to tie a knot 1 inch from top to bind and hide ends on WS. Trim tassel ends evenly.

Block scarf.
