FINISHING Closing Top of Hat

With standard tapestry needle, weave end tail through tops of sts of rnd 24, pull tightly and knot on the inside of Hat. Secure and weave in the ends.

Pompom

Place fur fabric on cutting surface with fur side down. Pin 5-inch circle template to fabric. Use scissors or craft knife to cut fabric around template, being careful to cut only through the fabric backing and not the fur itself. Remove loose fur from edges. Leaving a beg tail of 6 inches, with sharp tapestry needle and 16-inch length of yarn, sew large basting sts around edge of fabric about

1/4 inch from edge. Take care to sew through the fabric without catching the fur. Pull the 2 ends of the yarn to gather the pompon. If desired, put a small amount of fiberfill in the center of the pompom. Pull the ends tightly and knot. Use yarn tails to sew pompom to top of Hat.
