PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Star stitch is crocheted a bit differentl­y than normal but still easily followed.

Throw is crocheted vertically. Chain-4 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

THROW

Row 1 (WS): With size M hook, ch 134, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (133 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 3: Rep row 2.

Row 4 (RS): Ch 5, draw up a lp in 2nd ch from hook, draw up a lp in each of next 3 chs (5 lps on hook), draw up a lp in next sc, yo, draw through all 6 lps on hook (star st made), ch 1 (eye of

star st), [draw up a lp in eye of previous star st, draw up a lp in last vertical post of same star st, draw up a lp in same sc as last lp of same star st (4 lps on hook), draw up a lp in each of next 2 sc, yo, draw through all 6 lps on hook (star st made), ch 1 (eye of star st)] across, turn. (67 star sts)

Row 5: Sl st in eye of star st,

(22 sc) and 2 sc in side edge of each dc row (44 sc) across, turn. (112 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Rows 3–5: Rep row 2.

Row 6: Ch 1, working in back lps (see Stitch Guide) only, sc in each st across, turn.

Rows 7– 10: Rep row 2. At the end of row 10, fasten off.

BOTTOM TRIM

Row 1 (WS): With size L hook, join yarn in bottom edge to work along row ends of blanket, ch 1, work 1 sc in each sc row (46 sc),

1 sc in side edge of each star st row (22 sc) and 2 sc in side edge of each dc row (44 sc) across, turn. (112 sc)

Rows 2–10: Rep rows 2–10 of top trim.

OUTER TRIM

Rnd 1 (WS): With size L hook, join in first rem free lp of row 5 top trim, [ch 1, sl st in next st] across edge, fold rows 6–10 down on top of rows 1–5 of trim and working through both thicknesse­s, [ch 1, sl st in next st] 5 times,

A. working on side edge of throw, [ch 1, sl st in next st] across edge to next section of bottom trim, fold rows 6–10 down on top of rows 1–5 of bottom trim and working through both thicknesse­s, [ch 1, sl st in next st] 5 times,

B. working in rem free lps of row 5, [ch 1, sl st in next st] across edge, fold rows 6–10 down on top of rows 1–5 of trim and working through both thicknesse­s, [ch 1, sl st in next st] 5 times,

working on side edge of throw, [ch 1, sl st in next st] across edge to next section of trim, fold rows 6–10 down on top of rows 1–5 of trim and working through both thicknesse­s, [ch 1, sl st in next st] 5 times, join in beg sl st. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Thread a 3-yd length of yarn on yarn needle. With WS facing, with care, gently whipstitch

edge (see illustrati­on) of row 10 to row 1 of top trim. Rep same across bottom trim of throw.
