Alison Pullover

PATTERN NOTES

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Chain-4 at beginning of row counts as first treble crochet unless otherwise stated.

Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

The body of the pullover is worked in rounds of alternatin­g front loop double crochet and back loop double crochet.

One shoulder is made for each Lace Section; do not make a 2nd shoulder on the other side of piece.

SPECIAL STITCH

Single crochet join (sc join):

Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

PULLOVER

LACE SECTION Make 2.

Foundation ch: Ch 151 [151, 159, 163, 171, 171].

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (150 [150, 158, 162, 170, 170] sts)

Row 2: Ch 4 (see Pattern

Notes), *sk next 2 sts, tr in each of next 2 sts, working behind last 2 sts made, tr in first sk st, tr in next sk st; rep from * across to last st, tr in last st, turn.

Rows 3–10: Rep row 2. Row 11: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Shoulder

Row 12: Ch 4, *sk next 2 sts, tr in each of next 2 sts, working behind last 2 sts made, tr in first sk st, tr in next sk st; rep from * 12 [12, 13, 13, 14, 14] times, tr in next st, turn. Fasten off for sizes small and medium only. (54 [54, 58, 58, 62, 62] sts) Sizes Large, X-Large, 2X-Large & 3X-Large Only Row 13: Ch 4, *sk next 2 sts, tr in each of next 2 sts, working behind last 2 sts made, tr in first sk st, tr in next sk st; rep from * [13, 13, 14, 14] times, tr in next st. Fasten off for sizes large and X-large only. Sizes 2X-Large & 3X-Large Only Row 14: Ch 4, *sk next 2 sts, tr in each of next 2 sts, working behind last 2 sts made, tr in first sk st, tr in next sk st; rep from * [14, 14] times, tr in next st. ASSEMBLY

Shoulders: Place both pieces tog, with bottom piece having shoulder on the left and the top having shoulder on the right. Sew each shoulder to top of other piece across adjacent sts beg at the outside edge.

Sleeves: With RS tog, starting at either cuff, sc join (see Special Stitch) in first st, working in back lp only (see Stitch Guide) of front piece and front lp only

(see Stitch Guide) of back piece at the same time, sc in next 38 [36, 36, 36, 36, 34] sts, sl st in next st. (40 [38, 38, 38, 38, 36] sts) Fasten off for first sleeve only; on 2nd sleeve, continue to body.

BODY

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), *[front lp dc in next st, back lp dc in next st] 35 [37, 41, 43, 47, 49] times, front lp dc in next st of sleeve (st with sl st)**, back lp dc in next st of sleeve (st with sl st); rep from *

to ** once. (144 [152, 168, 176, 192, 200] sts)

Rnds 2–30: Ch 3, *front lp dc in next st, back lp dc in next st; rep from * to last st, front lp dc in last st, join (see Pattern Notes) to first st.

Rnds 31–35: Ch 1, back lp sc in first st, *front lp sc in next st, back lp sc in next st; rep from * to last st, front lp sc in last st, join to first st.

FINISHING

Cuff

Row 1: Sc join in any ch-4 sp, 3 sc in same ch-4 sp, *4 sc in next ch-4 sp; rep from * around, join to first sc.

Rows 2–4: Ch 1, back lp sc in first st, *front lp sc in next st, back lp sc in next st; rep from * to last st, front lp sc in last st, join to first st. Fasten off.

Rep for 2nd sleeve. CW
