• Medium (worsted) weight cotton yarn:
11/2 oz/75 yds/45g
orange
1 oz/50 yds/30g each dark pink and orange/ green/yellow/hot pink variegated
• Size H/8/5mm crochet hook • Tapestry needle

Gauge is not important for this project.
PATTERN NOTES
INTERMEDIATE
Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
SPECIAL STITCH
Long front post double cro
chet (long fpdc): Yo, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo, pull up lp to height of sts on hook, [yo and draw through 2 lps on hook] twice.
DISHCLOTH
Row 1 (RS): With orange, ch 28, dc in 4th ch from hook (sk chs count as first dc), dc in next ch and in each rem ch across, turn. (26 dc)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each dc across, changing color (see Stitch Guide) to variegated in last st, turn. Fasten off orange. Row 3: With variegated, ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), dc in next sc,
long fpdc (see Special Stitch) around next dc 2 rows below, *dc in each of next 2 sts**, long fpdc around next dc 2 rows below, rep from * across, ending last rep at **, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each dc across, changing color to dark pink in last st, turn. Fasten off variegated.
Row 5: With pink, ch 3, dc in next sc, [long fpdc around next long fpdc 2 rows below, dc in each of next 2 sc] across, turn.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each dc across, changing color to variegated in last st, turn. Fasten off pink.
Row 7: With variegated, ch 3, dc in next sc, [long fpdc around next long fpdc 2 rows below, dc in each of next 2 sc] across, turn.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each dc across, changing color to orange in last st, turn. Fasten off variegated.
Row 9: With orange, ch 3, dc in next sc, [long fpdc around next long fpdc 2 rows below, dc in each of next 2 sc] across, turn.
Row 10: Ch 1, sc in each dc across, changing color to variegated in last st, turn. Fasten off orange.
Row 11: Rep row 7.
Rows 12–19: Rep rows 4–11. Rows 20–24: Rep rows 4–8. At end of row 24, fasten off variegated.
Edging
Rnd 1: With RS facing, join (see Pattern Notes) orange in first sc on last row, ch 3, 4 dc in same sc (corner made), dc evenly around, working 5 dc in each corner, join in top of beg ch-3. Fasten off.
