PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

When joining motifs together, front post treble crochet is worked around designated stitch. Hold back last 2 loops of front post treble crochet on hook, then insert hook in top of corresponding front post treble crochet on designated motif, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook to join the 2 stitches as 1 at top. Motifs that make up the basket are joined as work progresses to the previous motif. The 4th motif is joined to the first motif on 2 sides to form the square basket. The 5th motif is joined to bottom of the basket in the same way as sides were joined and is connected to bottom of all 4 of the joined motifs with the joined front post treble crochets.

Plastic foam is used to stiffen basket as well as holding flowers and leaves in place after completion.
