PATTERN NOTES

Worked lengthwise from side edge to side edge.

Edging is created as work progresses.

Some rows may seem too tight until subsequent rows have been worked.

Make color changes by fastening off old color and joining new color with slip stitch in beginning half double crochet of next row.

Eye of stitch is the chain stitch made following completion of flower bottom. When working back across a row of flower bottoms, the eye will be the chain stitch immediately before the top of the flower bottom. Insert hook under front and back loops of eye to work into the chain stitch and not the chain space.

TASSELS

Wrap yarn 16 times around a 41/2-inch piece of cardboard. Before cutting, pull a 14-inch length of yarn through top of tassel, tie it tightly, then cut bottom of tassel strands (A).

Keeping top tie ends free, wrap another 14-inch length of yarn 3 times around tassel approximately 1/2 inch from top and tie tightly, leaving tails to become part of tassel (B). Pull one top tie tail through end flower at corner of blanket and tie to second tail. Use needle to thread all yarn tails down through tassel.

Rep for rem 3 corners of blanket. Trim tassel ends evenly.
