Join rounds with a slip stitch unless otherwise stated. Beginning chain-3 counts as first double crochet throughout.

DOILY

MOTIF Make 9. Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 5, join (see Pattern Notes) to form a ring,

ch 4 (counts as first dc, ch-1 sp),

[dc in ring, ch 1] 11 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-4. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (see Pattern Notes),

fptr (see Stitch Guide) in same st, [ch 2, (dc, fptr) in next dc] rep around, ending with dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.

Rnd 3: Sl st back into last fptr made, (ch 3, dc, fptr) in same st, [ch 2, (2 dc, fptr) in next fptr] rep around, ending with dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.

Rnd 4: Sl st back into last fptr made, (ch 3, 2 dc, fptr) in same st, [ch 2, (3 dc, fptr) in next fptr] rep around, ending with dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.

Rnd 5: Sl st back into last fptr made, (ch 3, 2 dc, fptr) in same st, sk next dc, *(2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr) in next dc (corner), (3 dc, fptr) in next fptr, [ch 2, (3 dc, fptr**) in next fptr] twice, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, dc in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.

Rnd 6: Sl st back into last fptr made, (ch 3, 2 dc, fptr) in same st, *(2 tr, ch 2, tr, ch 3, tr, ch 2, 2 tr) in corner ch-2 sp,

[(3 dc, fptr, ch 2) in next fptr] twice **, (3 dc, fptr) in next fptr, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, fasten off.

With RS facing, working in back lps only, matching sts, sew motifs tog in 3 rows of 3 motifs each.
