Comparing the Costs

We asked the folks at North Sails to price three sets of sails for a center-cockpit Passport 44: basic Dacron, 3Di Nordac and 3Di carbon sails. The genoa is on a furler; the main is full-battened on a boom furler.

The Coastal Dacron set retails at $6,503 for the main, and $5,136 for the genoa.

The 3Di Nordac cruising sails retail at $7,707 for the main, and $6,000 for the genoa.

The 3Di Endurance 780m highest-performance carbon sails retail at $14,000 for the main and $12,000 for the genoa.
