Online diplomas for adults

The Santa Clara County Library District is partnering with the California State Library and Gale, a Michiganbased educational publishing company, to offer Career High School Online, where adults can earn their accredited high school diploma and career certificate.

The program pairs each student with an academic coach. Classes are supported by boardcertified instructors, and students have 24/7 access to the online learning platform.

Students have 18 months to complete the program. In addition to a high school diploma, those who finish will also receive a credentialed career certificate in one of eight fields.

Applicants must reside in the county library district, be at least 19 years old and have a library account in good standing. All classes are taught in English, with participants needing to read at a seventhgrade level or above. The district has a limited number of scholarships available.
