New parks director

Matt Morley has been named Cupertino's parks and public works director. Morley resigned earlier this month from the same position in Los Gatos.

“Mr. Morley is a very talented director who has accomplished a lot during his tenure with Los Gatos,” Town manager Laurel Prevetti said in a statement. “The Cupertino experience provides him new growth opportunities. Municipalities across the country are experiencing similar [losses] as baby boomers retire, creating opportunities for talent to take on bigger challenges.”

A familiar face in Cupertino will fill Morley's shoes in Los Gatos until a permanent replacement is hired. Timm Borden is set to serve as the town's interim parks and public works. Now retired, Borden served as Cupertino's interim city manager from January to June 2019 and was the city's public works director for more than eight years prior to that.
