Compost site reopens
The Cupertino Compost Site reopened March 25. Cupertino residents can pick-up free bulk compost every Friday and Saturday at 12100 Stevens Canyon Road across from the Stevens Creek Reservoir dam parking lot, 8 a.m.-noon through Oct. 29. The compost site will close during rainy weather or muddy conditions to comply with state stormwater requirements. Call 408-7771320 to check status.

Pedaling influence
Cupertino residents are encouraged to apply for the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission. This seat is for a partial term ending on January 30, 2025. The application deadline is April 15, at 4:30 p.m. City council will conduct interviews beginning at 5:30 p.m. on April 26.

Fire museum tour
Bay Area Older Adults is hosting a tour of the Santa Clara Fire Museum today. On this 90-minute private tour, curators will explain the history of the building and the city of Santa Clara starting from the early 1800s, as well as the different modes of transportation used over time, from the hose cart pulled by firemen and its bucket brigade to gas-powered fire engines. Artifacts include handwritten log books, photos, helmets, an old alarm system, pull boxes and a 911 memorial.
