River cleanup day

In partnershi­p with the Creeks Connection Action Group, the City of Cupertino is hosting a family-friendly community creek cleanup on Saturday 9 a.m.-noon, at Creekside Park, 10455 Miller Ave. Volunteers and city staff will clean up areas surroundin­g Calabazas Creek, which runs along Creekside Park.

Gloves, trash grabbers, and other tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to bring water to stay hydrated and dress for safety: wear closed toe shoes, long sleeves, long pants and sunscreen.

Bike to Work Days

As part of the Bay Area's annual Bike to Work/ Wherever Days, the Cupertino Bicycle Pedestrian Commission is hosting an energizer station on today 6:30-9 a.m., at the corner of Stelling and Mcclellan roads.

New FUHSD superinten­dent

Graham Clark, a longtime educator and administra­tor with the Fremont Union High School District, has been named the district's new superinten­dent. Clark is set to begin his tenure on July 1.

In is 25 years with the district, Clark has served as a high school math teacher, assistant principal, principal and district office administra­tor. In his current position as deputy superinten­dent, Clark oversees the district's administra­tive services, bond and technology programs.

Clark replaces Polly Bove, who is retiring at the end of the current school year after 33 years with the district.
