BROKEN BOW - The Custer County Board of Supervisor­s met Tuesday. June 23. Part of the report was printed in the June 25 issue of the Custer County Chief. This is the remainder meeting notes.

The Supervisor­s held a public hearing regarding the CDBG loan for Robbins & Company, LLC, formally known at the Marty Mart in Arnold, and a public hearing on repurposin­g of the CDBG Funds to Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilita­tion Program.

The Owner-Occupied Rehab program will allow homeowners in Custer County to apply for funds to make necessary safety and energy efficient improvemen­ts to their homes. The program offers up to a $25,000 forgivable loan to homeowners. The program is available to homeowners that live within municipal limits and meet the Federal income guidelines.

Examples of eligible activities include repairing foundation­s, roofs and floors, updating plumbing and electrical systems and installing energy efficient windows, doors, walls, etc. The program is not yet active until the funds are repurposed later this fall.

Lisa Liepzig addressed the Supervisor­s telephonic­ally with the updates on Prairie Hill Wind Farms. In a public hearing Oct. 9, 2018, the Supervisor­s approved permit #18-8-10, Prairie Hills Wind Farm, LLC to build 88 to 110 wind turbines in southeast Custer County. Liepzig reported to the supervisor­s they have experience­d delays and have had to push the completion to 2022. The company is still very committed to the project.

The supervisor­s held a public hearing on Res. #18-2020 to amend Custer County FY2019-20 Budget, to transfer from the miscellane­ous general for budget shortages, and directed the Treasurer to pay the building bond payment. The supervisor­s accepted the road study for Rd #818 and #44 and set a hearing date of July 28 at 10 a.m.
