Broken Bow- Over the weekend the Spirit White Softball 16-18 under team won two hotly contested games 5-4 over St. Paul and 6-5 over Central City.

In game one against St. Paul, Spirit White was able to score two runs in the first on Joscelyn Coleman stealing home and Kennedy Garcia tagging up on third on a flyout by Kate Holcomb.

With the score 3-1 in the top of the fourth St.

Paul rallied and scored three runs to take a onerun lead.

In the bottom half of the inning Spirit White did not give up and fought back to regain the lead.

They did so with Holcomb on third and Kaylee Petersen on second.

Holcomb was able to successfully steal home and Petersen scored on an error by the catcher.

With one more chance to score in the top of the fifth, closer Mia Weverka shut down any chance of a comeback for St. Paul with two strikeouts.

Game two against Central City played out very similarly to game one against St. Paul.

Spirit White jumped out to a 2-1 lead thanks to singles by Petersen and Garcia.

Again, they saw the lead evaporate in the top of the fourth with a fourspot by Central City.

A Kylee Racicky double in the bottom of the fourth got Spirit White back on the comeback trail, scoring both Weverka and Brianna Arguello.

The next batter Coleman tripled on a line drive to center and scored Racicky to tie the game.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Spirit White secured their second walkoff victory of the year when Weverka singled to center scoring Coleman.

Next up for the Spirit White is two away games in Kearney on July 1 against the Kearney Krush. The first game starts at 6:00 p.m.
