BULLRIDING: Come out to see some of the best talent yet

-

Colo., S.D., Iowa, Mo., Texas, Wyo., Iowa., N.D., Utah and Ga. along with a bull rider from Brazil.

This year’s Bull Riding Classic will also feature three time world champion bullfighter Weston Rutowski and one of the best barrelmen in the world,

Justin Rumford.

Last year there was a surprise at the beginning of the event for the audience. Bobby Ried of Iowa, who has had over 2,000 jumps, parachuted and landed in the arena with the American Flag while The “Star Spangle Banner” and Lee Greenwood’s song “Proud to be an American” was played.

The flag was caught in ther arena by military veterans. It was truly a sight to behold. That grand entrance is taking place again this year.

Eberle stated that the cost of putting on the event has tripled since the beginning 22 years ago. It takes approximately 70 people to help put on the event. The event has been a success and they have packed the event every year. Eberle hopes this year is no different. It will be a little different this year with the Free Pit BBQ, which takes place before the Custer County Classic, being drive through this year because of COVID-19. He is hoping traffic and parking does not become too congested.

It is what it is. Eberle is hoping it will work out.

Special parking is designated for those picking up a sandwich which will then be directed to special parking for those who are attending the bull riding. See page A2 for a map.

Whether you have attended the Free Pit BBQ and Bull Riding Classic every year or have never been before, be sure to put it on your calendar for July 27. The Free Pit BBQ is from 5:30 p.m. 7:00 p.m. followed by the Custer County Classic at 7:30 p.m. You won’t want to miss it. It is a great experience for all ages.
