A-L vs S-E-M

The S-E-M volleyball team knocked off Fort Kearney Conference rival Ansley-Litchfield 25-14, 23-25, and 25-15 on Sept. 22 in Sumner.

The Mustangs got a big performanc­e from freshman Mikah O’Neill who ended the match with 23 kills. while Abbie Rohde and Audrey Reiter each had six. Aubree Clafin added five ace serves in the win.

The only person with double figure kills for the Spartans was Carli Bailey with 11. Audrey Hogg and Sydnee Sweley had 22 digs.

A-CL Golf at Gibbon

The Arcadia-Loup City Girls Golf team competed at the Gibbon Invite on Sept.22. The meet was setup where you competed in team of two.

The team of Bailey Kuehl and Kylie Jerabek were in division B and ahot a 99 to take fourth.

Cami Fulton and DeLynn Day were in division C and shot a 105. That was good enought to tie for fifth place.

Twin Loup vs Central Valley

The Twin Loup girls volleyball team was able to beat the Cougars of Central Valley in straight sets 25-19, 25-21, and 25-13.

The Wolves were led by Emma Hart with 12 kills and Shaylee Oxford with nine. Oxford also recorded five ace serves on the night.

A-M vs South Loup

Anselmo-Merna and South Loup were matched up with each other at the Elm Creek Triangular on Sept. 22. The Bobcats won 25-18 and 25-22 over the Coyotes.

Calyn Laible led South Loup with six kills and Custer County Chief All-Area team member, Jadeyn Bubak had four. Leading the teams in digs was Mya Weverka with 13.

Four A-M, Hadlee Safranek ended up with four kills and Jaide Chandler had three.

A-M vs Elm Creek

Anselmo-Merna fell in their second game of the Elm Creek Triangular to the host Elm Creek 24-26, amd 6-25.

Shaylyn Safranek had five kills and Claire Cooksley ended the match with four. Defensivel­y, Kirsten Myers recorded a team high eight digs followed by Hadlee Safranek with four.

South Loup vs Elm Creek

South Loup used a strong attack upfront to the knock off the host Elm Creek during the Elm Creek Triangular Sept.22, 25-21 and 25-16.

Custer County Chief All-Area team member Jadeyn Bubak and Shayla Tickle led the team with six kills. Ava Pandorf, Calyn Laible, Bubak, Mya Weverka, and Lauryn Johnson each recorded an ace in the match.

A-LC vs Gibbon

The Arcadia-Loup City volleyball team lost to the Gibbon Buffaloes 16-25, 23-25, and 2225 on Sept.22 in Gibbon.

Tatum Kapustka and Delanie Heil each recorded six kills in the match. Defensivel­y, Lindsi Loos had 12 digs and Halie Kaslon had 11.

G-R XC Invite

The Mullen XC team competed at the Gordon-Rushville Invite Sept.25.

On the boys side, Trevor Kuncle was 2nd in a time of 14:43, Hayden Jennings was sixth with a 19:46, and Alex Moore was 10th running a 20:41.

Callie Covle won the girls race in 21:00 and Josey French was third in a time of 22:24.

Mullen vs Valentine

Class D2 No. 9 Mullen beat Valentine 25-15 and 25-19 on Sept.24.

Mullen vs Stuart

Class D2 No. 9 Mullen beat Stuart 20-25, 25-23, and 25-21 on Sept. 24 in the Valentine Triangular.

The team was led by Samantha Moore with 17 kills and Kylie Licking with 10 kils.

S-E-M vs Silver Lake

S-E-M volleyball lost to Loomis 22-25 and 22-25 on Sept.24 in Loomis.

Freshman Mikah O’Neill had ten kills and Aubree Clafin and Faith Hernandez had two aces.

S-E-M vs Elm Creek

S-E-M volleyball upset 12-5 Elm Creek 21-25, 28-26, and 2518 on Sept. 24 during the Loomis triangular.

Mikah O’Neill had 14 kills and Audrey Reiter recorded 13.

A-M vs Amherst

After winning three straight games, the Anselmo-Merna football team lost to Amherst by a final of 35-6. Bryce Schmidt led the Coyotes with 74 rushing yards and Carter Johnson had 39 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

A-LC vs Ravenna

Class D1 N0.10 Arcadia-Loup City won a home football game over the Ravenna Blue Jays 2618 on Sept.25.

Next week they travel to D1. No.2 Burwell.

S-E-M vs Silver Lake

The S-E-M football team improve to 3-1 on the season, with a 60-15 victory over Silver Lake on Sept.25.

Carson Rohde had seven carries for 164 yards and four scoes and Noah Eggleston had three rushes for 60 yards. and a touchdown.

Franklin XC Invite

The S-E-M XC team competed at the Franklin XC Invite on Sept. 22.

Finishing in 12th place overal was Josie Smith in a time of 26:27.8. The boys were led Gage Schledwits in 42nd with a time of 23:51.31 and Navarre Plagmann was 75th in a time of 36:41.91.

Ord Invite

A-LC, Twin Loup, and S-T all competed at the Ord XC Invite on Sept.25.

Leading the area boys was Ty Greenland in 7th with a time of 18:48.96. Brayden Schaefer finished 39th to lead S-T and Daniel Folkers was 45th for the Wolves.

Jessi Heyen was 16th in the girls race for A-LC, Dayle Haake was 17th for S-T, and Twin Loup Gracie Conrad finished 45th.

Mullen vs Hyannis

The Mullen football team knocked off Hyannis Longhorns on homecoming 58-12 on Sept.25.

Clayton Moore had 79 passing yards and two scores and Joseph DeNaeyer had 172 rusing yards and three TD’s.

Mullen vs S-V

Class D-2 N0.9 Mullen won 2-0 over Sandhills Valley at the Brady Tournament on Sept. 26.

Mullen vs Twin Loup

Class D-2 No.9 Mullen beat Twin Loup 25-18, 21-25, and 25-15 at the Brady Tournament­on Sep. 26.

The Wolves were led by Shaylee Oxford with six kills.

Brady Tournament

Twin Loup lost to Maxwell 25-21, 19-25, 18-25.

Anslemo Merna beats Brady 25-17 and 25-19.

Sutherland Tournament C2 No.7 South Loup beats Sutherland 25-13 and 25-18

C2 No.7 South Loup beats NP St. Patricks 19-25, 25-14, and 27-25

C2 No.7 South lost to C2 No.4 Overton 21-25 and 17-25.
