How many of you have seen the signup forms around the county for KOOLKASH? I will get to that in a moment to fill you in about this!

This week we have had COVID cases on the rise. We are seeing businesses effected with cases and we had SNOW and record temps this past week!

Just like our weather is always changing, the headlines are always changing also. I am so thankful we have the archives of the Chief since 1892. Reading those brittle pages gives us a glimpse allowing us to also look into the future. When this pandemic started, of course many of us have not lived through such an event, but our ancestors have, our county has. This area has survived several diseases over the years before vaccines were invented and we will again.

I think back just a year ago at all the events we covered for the paper and all the people and business meetings I used to attend, I long for that time back to see and be with the communities. We will have them all back and just like the 1918 Spanish flu and other diseases, they will be a story that we tell to the next several generations; you just have to believe and you also have to keep yourself safe. We also have to keep our businesses safe. That does not mean for them to close down, it means for all of us to support them, shop at them and keep you and the business owner safe.
