winning the MNAC, winning a district crown, and qualifying for state. The one goal that did evade the Broncos was winning
a state tournament game.
“We all thought that making it to state this season was very attainable for this team,” Jennifer Moore said. Our goals were a little bit larger than that this season and we knew that if we had all came to play at state, we could have accomplished those goals.”
This group had a big senior class of six who brought a lot of experience to the court and really helped bolster the play of everybody around them. They were Lindey
Coble, Hanna Marshall, Kylie Licking, Samantha Moore, Brooke McCully, and Michelle Brown.
“This senior group was huge for us,” Moore said. “They grew up playing sports together since they were very little, and they will be dearly missed that’s for darn sure.”
One of the biggest milestones for this year’s team is when they played one of the top schools in Class C1 Broken Bow. They proved that they could hang with not only the elite small schools but bigger schools across the state as well by winning a set.
“I would say my favorite memory is when we went to Broken Bow and played Broken Bow,” Moore said. It’s crazy to think that would be a memorable moment because we lost, but to just see the girls play the way they did and have fun was awesome and that’s what the game is all about.”
The 2020 squad finished with a record of 28-6 overall and were 4-0 in district D2-10.
