Merry and bright in Callaway!

Pictured above is Carol Allen ringing bells for the Salvation Army outside the Grocery Kart in Broken Bow. A 15-year veteran ringing the bells, Allen said the weather she had on Friday, Dec. 6 was the best she ever had.

Bell ringing is now taking place in Broken Bow and the Salvation Army is looking for people to ring bells. Ninety percent of funds raised through the Red Kettle program in Custer County stays in Custer County. Funds are used for Back-to-School Book Bag program, Santa Cop, swim lessons, food pantries, senior meals, Diaper Depot, weekend backpack programs, college textbooks for area foster students, book fairs, year-round support for individual­s needing assistance with vision, dental and prescripti­on services.

The three locations in Broken Bow this year are Gary’s Superfoods, Grocery Kart and Orschlen.
