Donald Ray Gunther, 87, of Broken Bow, Neb., died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at the Jennie Melham Medical Center.

Donald Ray Gunther was born May 26, 1933 at Sargent to Cyrus and Eunice (Sevier) Gunther.

The family moved to the Ash Creek Community south west of Broken Bow in 1948. Don attended Broken Bow High School and graduated with the class of 1950.

Don served in the US Army from May, 1953 to August, 1955. After his time in the Army Don returned to the family farm where he continued to farm and ranch with his parents and brother. In the spring of 2005 Don retired and sold the farm. He moved to Broken Bow.

Don enjoyed going to coffee and finding new roads to drive around the countrysid­e on.

Don is survived by his brother Dwain (Emma Lou) Gunther of Broken Bow; nieces Sherilyn Hendricks and Tammy Mattox; nephews Dean (Janice) Hendricks, Neil (Vicky) Hendricks, Gene (Laura) Hendricks, Randell (Erin) Gunther and Brad (Margie) Gunther.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Delores Hendricks; niece Janet Hendricks; infant nephews Dennis and Ronald Gunther; and a great-nephew Kevin Hendricks.

Graveside services were Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Broken Bow Cemetery with Pastor Matt Fowler officiatin­g. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Military Honors. The services was livestream­ed at www.govierbrot­hers.com

Visitation was Monday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary.
