This season the Arcadia-Loup City boys basketball had high aspirations for themselves, with a strong core of seniors returning. Despite those expectations, the season did not end as expected for the Rebels with a losing record of 9-11.

- Finished the season with a record of 9-11 overall.
- Senior gurard Jadyn Scott was selected FirstTeam All LouPlatte Conference. it would for us,” A-LC Coach Aaron Habe said. “We started off the year doing some good things but had too many mistakes. After Christmas, we really started to play some good basketball. We had a very tough schedule and there were a lot of “what if” games against some very quality teams.
Every game we lost late in the year we had chances to win in the 4th quarter and we just could not get it done.”
The team’s two leading scorers were seniors Drew Lewandowski with 10.2 points per game and Jadyn Scott with 12.6 points per game. These two along with Johnny
True, and Clayton Dethlefs will be missed heading into next season.
The good news is some good core pieces are returning from this year’s team. An example of this is Trey Van Slyke who scored 4.3 points per game and had five rebounds per game, and Prestyn Rogers who averaged 6.2 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game.
Despite the fact they lost six straight games to end the season, A-LC fought in every single one of those losses. This could be seen in the team’s final defeat to Twin River in Sub-Districts, where they outscored the Titans 17-11 in the fourth to cut their deficit to eight points in the end.
“This group of kids got better as the season went on, which means they came to practice getting better each day,” Habe said. “Whether we were up 10 or down 10 these guys always gave a great effort which made this a really fun team to coach.”
