Missionaries volunteer to help

- BY MONA WEATHERLY Managing Editor

Are you needing a hand with work in the yard, garage or home?

Gabe Kenison, Eddie Cornelius and Carson Wright may be able to help.

The three young men are in Broken Bow for the next several weeks as missionaries with the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-day Saints. Kenison says they can help with a lot of things around the house and there is no charge. “It’s all absolutely free,” Kenison said. “We love to help in an way we can.

They have a few restrictions - they are not to use power tools and not to climb too high, as in up on roofs. Other than that, most anything goes. “Gardening, organizing, cleaning up,” Kenison said. Cornelius added, “Painting, moving stuff, genealogy work.”

Between the three of them, they have been to Blair, Lincoln, Omaha, Shenandoah, Iowa and Brookings S.D. During those trips, they have done yard work, raked leaves and dug fence post holes. Kenison and Wright are from Utah and Cornelius hails from Oregon.

“Our goal and our Church’s goal is to help every one we can come closer to Jesus Christ,” Kenison said. They are happy to discuss Scriptures and faith yet they also see the physical work as just as important. “By doing good and helping, we bring the light of Christ into the community,” adding that it’s more important than ever in these stressful times.

The area they are assigned includes Broken Bow, reaches as far east as Arcadia and Loup City and to the west to Arnold, Dunning and Halsey.

If you are interested in talking to them about doing some work for you, call 402-973-8737. Kenison said they arrived Aug. 17 and will be in the area two to three months.
