The South Loup Lady Bobcats had a long night ahead of them Sept.14 on a nice Tuesday evening. Dundy Country-Stratton hosted a triangular against the South Loup Bobcats and the Brady

Eagles.

Both the Brady Eagles and Dundy County-Stratton had some bad luck in the beginning of their season and were both 0-8. All three teams were ready for the challenge to participate in two games for the night.

The first game of the night was the Lady Cats against Dundy County. The South Loup Lady Bobcats had a positive mindset for the game and were ready for the challenge. The score of the two sets were 25-15, and 25-12. The Lady Cats took the win and were very proud of how they played and communicated.

Lauryn Johnson (Junior at Callaway) and Bryn Schwarz (Sophomore at Arnold) tied for the most kills during that game. Both girls ended their game with 5 perfect kills.

Irelyn Rosfeld (Senior at Callaway) finished her game with 4 ace serves.

Overall, the team had 14 ace serves during that game giving them some extra easy points.

The Lady Cats were very excited about their first win and ready to take on the Brady Eagles.

“Our communication during that game was on point, Faith Bierman (Senior at Arnold) said. “We knew it would be an easier game so we were able to play more people and work on some skills we don’t usually get to do during games. Overall the game went very well and it was an extra boost for the next game we were going to play.”

In their second game, the South Loup Bobcats played the Brady Eagles. The Lady Cats also had a lot of luck during this game and won both sets as well. The scores of those sets were 25-7, and 25-18.

The younger girls on the team were able to sub in during this game and get a chance to get on the court. The Lady Cats had a great night and ended it with two wins, which boosted their confidence a lot. They were ready to have a couple days to rest and be ready for their next matches the next week.

“Brady was missing some players so it wasn’t a terribly difficult game,” Relyn Rosfeld (Senior at Callaway) said. “They gave a great fight and we came out on top on both sets. I’d be interested to see how the game played out if both teams were at full strength.”
