William ‘Bill’ Burt

Bill Burt 1938 - 2021

William “Bill” Richard Burt, 83, of the Oshkosh, Neb. area passed away Nov. 14, 2021 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.

Bill was born Jan. 27, 1938 in Comstock to Cecil Raymond Burt, Sr. and Clarice Alice (Tabor) Burt.

Bill is survived by daughter Lorinda Price of Omaha; son Raymond Burt of David City; stepsons Gerald Henry of Omaha and David Henry of Omaha; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother Cecil Burt of Broken Bow.

Bill was preceded in death by parents Cecil and Clarice Burt, Sr.; wife Francis; sister Alyce Finney; brother Oscar Burt; and son Brian Burt of his previous marriage.

A Celebration of Life was Saturday, Nov. 20 at 10:30 a.m. MT at the United Methodist Church in Mullen with Pastor John Parsons officiating.

Burial was in the Cedarview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Research.

Erwin Cox, 75, of Kearney, Neb. died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society – St. John’s in Kearney.

Erwin Anton Cox was born Oct. 10, 1946 in Ansley, Neb. to Kenneth and Lucille (Knajdl) Cox.

He grew up in Mason City and attended Mason City Public Schools from kindergarten through high school graduation in 1964.

He was drafted into the Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam as an Intelligence Analyst. He was awarded a bronze star for meritorious service. He was honorably discharged in 1967.

He met Wanda Rasmussen in July of 1968 and they were married Nov. 15, 1969 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Hazard. They settled in Kearney and were blessed with three children, Anthony John, Melissa Rae and Todd Andrew.

Erwin worked for West Company and returned to college at Kearney State College, graduating with a degree in Business with emphasis in accounting. He was employed by Midland Co-op until retiring in November of 2016.
