No further details on dismissal of city administrator
Council approves replat of Eaglecrest
BROKEN BOW - Before the Broken Bow City Council meeting began last Tuesday, Feb. 14, the Custer County Chief asked City Attorney White and Mayor Rod Sonnichsen about the dismissal of City Administrator Dan Knoell earlier that day. White confirmed that an internal investigation by the city officials was underway and had no further information.
White said it’s business as usual with city projects such as the continued development of Eaglecrest and the Custer County Wellness and Early Learning Center. City Attorney Jason White said, “We have good employees. We are moving forward.” Mayor Rod Sonnichsen concurred with this comment.
Knoell was interviewed two weeks ago for an article about the proposed wellness center that published in last week’s Chief. The Chief provided a copy of the article to White for review. White confirmed information about the wellness and child care center provided by Knoell was accurate for the article.
Knoell began as Broken Bow City Administration in August, 2020 and was let go on Feb. 14, 2023.
