Ogle was born to parents William E. and Nancy S. (Cox) Ogle on March 25, 1970, in Mt Ayr, Iowa. He spent most of his growing up years on a farm in Clearmont, Mo., with his parents and younger siblings.

Chris worked with his dad learning all about farming. He enjoyed playing baseball, football, basketball and participating in tractor pulls with his family. He graduated from West Nodaway High School in Burlington Junction, Mo. in 1988. Chris attended Northeast Community College and Nebraska Christian College.

Chris met Cindy Cook during their college years at NCC and they married on Sept. 7, 1991. They moved from Norfolk to Custer County in 1994. Chris changed from being a farmer to a cowboy and ranched for over 23 years. Although he went back to being a farmer for the last five and a half years, he was always a cowboy.

During his years of being a cowboy, seven beautiful daughters were born. Many asked if he was trying for a boy, but he always said his girls could rope and ride as good as any boy. Those daughters are KylieDean, Kenna, Kourtney, Kelsey, Kristen, Kayla and Karoline. They also have two blessings who went straight to the arms of Jesus. He is now with them.

Chris put 110 percent in everything he did. He was a hard worker and played just as hard. He had a servant’s heart and taught his children by example. He was a proud member of Sons of the American Legion and never missed helping at the Custer County Bull Riding Classic. He enjoyed participating in and judging ranch rodeos. Helping his girls show cattle at the fair and participate in Rodeo Bible Camps were some of the things he loved doing with them.

Chris loved to sing and enjoyed leading worship music with his family at church. His family and friends benefited from the delicious meats and food he cooked on the smoker he was gifted. Going to Alaska for a summer when he was twenty and taking his wife to the National Finals Rodeo for their 30th anniversary were very special to him. He enjoyed life.

He accepted God’s free gift of eternal life during New Way Singers his junior year of high school and had grown in his relationship with Christ, especially this last year. Chris was welcomed home by his Lord on March 14, 2023. He knew true victory in Jesus. He will be greatly missed. He loved us well.

Chris was preceded in death by his father Bill; grandparents Wayne and Phyllis Cox; grandfather John Ogle; infant sister Tammie; and nephew Michael.
