Janice Lee (Gates) Kieborz was born June 21, 1943, in Sargent,

Neb. to Major and Helen (Turner) Gates.

She grew up in Anselmo where she attended school and graduated from Anselmo High School in 1961. Growing up, Janice was active in cheerleadi­ng and dancing, and enjoyed swimming and reading.

Janice married Malcolm Kieborz on Sept. 1, 1962. With much love and anticipati­on, they were united with their two children, Tracy and Daniel. Janice and Malcolm made their home in Omaha for many years.

Janice worked at Dog and Suds as a carhop, and more recently, worked at Target as a cashier. She kept busy with her sewing, crocheting and gardening; she enjoyed reading and cherished time spent

with her grandchild­ren and all her family.

Janice was a kind, generous, funny and loving woman. She was a big Husker fan and could often be found sipping a cold Coke.

She loved to sing and laugh, had a tremendous love for everyone around her and loved God. Janice had a special kindness that she shared. She will be remembered for her acceptance of others and her joyous heart.

Janice passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Holiday Resort Care Center in Salina, Kan. at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 26 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents Major and Helen Gates; sisters Linda, Greta and Marliese; and brother Gary.

Janice is survived by her husband Malcolm; children Dan (Jennifer) Kieborz and Tracy Hensley; grandchild­ren Michael and Ryan Hensley and Kelsey, Kyle and Kaitlyn Kieborz; great-grandchild­ren Jordan, Charlotte and Leighton; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Reichmuth Funeral Homes and Crematory of Elkhorn is assisting the family with arrangemen­ts.
