Club card not needed for pricey villas

General public reservations will be available when tower opens in September

Disneyland high rollers with money to burn will soon be able to sleep in a $6,000-per-night, multilevel luxury suite normally reserved for club members that will be available to the general public.

The 12-story Disney Vacation Club Villas, under construction at the Disneyland Hotel, will open in September with studios and suites that are expected to cost $800-$6,000 per night.

Reservations will be available to Disney Vacation Club time share members March 15, Disneyland Magic Key annual passholders March 16 and the general public March 17.

“Most DVC properties don't focus on the ability of the general public to book them, but almost all of these properties do make such reservations available to nonmembers when space is available,” according to MiceChat. “Since DVC members will get first shot at reservations, don't expect wide availability for Magic Key holders or regular guests — especially at first.”

All of the studios and villas in Disneyland's new tower will be themed to Walt Disney Animation Studios films.

Disneyland's two-story Grand Villa will have three rooms inspired by “Bambi,” “Frozen” and “Moana” with enough space to sleep 12, plus a kitchen, dining room, private balcony and insuite washer and dryer.

Disney has not announced nightly rates for the new villas at the Disneyland Hotel — but the Grand Villa at Disney's Grand Floridian goes for $3,300-$6,000 per night, according to Touring Plans.

If those prices are too steep for your budget, the villas will also offer “Jungle Book”-themed studios, “Sleeping Beauty”themed deluxe studios and “Fantasia”-themed one- and two-bedroom suites.

At the Grand Floridian, standard and deluxe studios go for $800-$1,600 per night, while one- and two-bedroom villas range from $1,100-$3,200, according to Touring Plans.

Those prices are steep even by Disneyland standards. Nightly rates for basic rooms start at $380 for the Paradise Pier Hotel, $460 for the Disneyland Hotel and $540 for the Grand Californian during the offseason.

Rates for penthouse suites during the busy Christmas holiday season can top $3,000 at the Paradise Pier Hotel, $5,000 at the Disneyland Hotel and $9,000 at Disney's Grand Californian.
