HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL RANKINGS

The interrupti­ons and rescheduli­ng continue for area baseball coaches. The rain and three-day strike for City Section schools will make for a busy stretch run for all involved. Games are scheduled to resume today, but that could change.

Here is a look at this week’s Daily Breeze Top 10.

BASEBALL TOP 10

1. TORRANCE 9-2

The Tartars swept their Pioneer League-opening, two-game series against West. They were led by strong pitching by Tommy Adair and Nick Han. Torrance also picked up two wins in the Anaheim Lions Tournament.

2. REDONDO 5-5

The Sea Hawks split last week’s two-game Bay League series against Culver City. After losing the first game, Redondo shut out Culver City 1-0behind Tomas Lopez (five innings pitched, eight strikeouts) and Evan Moyer (two innings).

3. MIRA COSTA 7-5

The Mustangs are one of the hottest teams in the South Bay. After a two-game Bay League sweep of Peninsula and a win over Lakewood, the Mustangs have recorded six consecutiv­e wins heading into two games against Culver City.

4. SOUTH TORRANCE 8-3

The Spartans defeated Carson in the El Segundo Tournament. They wrapped up the week with a Pioneer League loss to Lawndale.

5. PALOS VERDES 9-5

In a week, the Sea Kings managed to play five games. They defeated El Segundo and Saugus in nonleague games, lost to Narbonne and swept Santa Monica in a twogame Bay League series.

6. NARBONNE 5-4

The Gauchos ended last week with a 4-3 win over Palos Verdes, which followed a 13-2loss to Torrance. With LAUSD on a three-day strike, the Gauchos hope to be back on the field Friday against Banning.

7. WEST TORRANCE 6-2

West was swept by Torrance in last week’s two-game Pioneer League series. The losses were their first of the season. The Warriors are scheduled to face South this week.

8. EL SEGUNDO 7-3

The Warriors recorded a sweep of a Pioneer League doublehead­er against Wiseburn Da Vinci 5-2 and 8-1.

9. SAN PEDRO 3-2

The Pirates haven’t played since March 9. They were scheduled for a Marine League series this week against Carson, but the three-day strike changed that. They have a game Saturday and next week they have a two-game Marine League series against Gardena.

10. PENINSULA 9-4

The Panthers lost a pair of one-run games to Mira Costa, but showed they should not be taken lightly.

On deck: Carson (5-5-1), Bishop Montgomery (4-4).
