Trump's NY civil fraud case

Prop. 1 and Newsom

Gavin Newsom has postponed the State of the State address indefinitely, pending the results of Proposition 1. That makes sense, because anyone who has ever taken the time to actually listen to any of Newsom's speeches knows that they are usually a litany of government spending, not a review of any meaningful positive results. Prop. 1 is a big one. If passed Newsom will be able to spend much of his State of the State speech touting billions of new spending, and programs old and new where there will be massive new funding but little to no accountability. In the world of Gavin Newsom, expanding the bloated government bureaucracy by spending ever more taxpayer money is all that matters. Whether or not it actually accomplishes anything is for others to assess.

Southern border crisis

Re “House Dems launch new border security task force” (March 18): So 26 members of the slight minority are going to convene a panel to come up with ideas on how to fix the border crisis. Are they going to demand Biden enforce the laws we already have? Are they going to ask the Senate Democratic majority to revise their proposal to make it acceptable to a bipartisan majority in the House? No. Instead, they are going to come up with another plan. A plan that won't be acceptable but will allow them to say “we tried.” What nonsense. Just beef up the border patrol, and build the wall that was partially constructed over three years ago. Allow immigration only through manned border stations with visas. Problem solved.

Donald Trump is accused of using false financial information to obtain loans from lending institutions. It's my understanding that the lenders were repaid. New York's attorney general together with Judge Engoron have leveled a fine of approximately $454 million. Trump is currently unable to secure a bond in that amount to go forward with an appeal. Who is the defendant here and who has been financially damaged? How was this judgment amount arrived at and who will receive payment if the judgment is upheld?

This lawsuit and judgment is a flagrant abuse of the law by individuals who use their power to destroy a political candidate for president, in order to help his opponent to achieve that office.
