El Segundo's Biscaya named 5AA Player of the Year
El Segundo senior Shane Biscaya was selected the CIF-Southern Section Division 5AA boys basketball player of the year.
Biscaya, a transfer from Redondo, helped lead the Eagles to a share of the Pioneer League title and to the CIF-SS Division 5AA final, where the Eagles lost to Castaic 63-52.
First-year Eagles coach Scott Martin was selected Division 5AA coach of the year. El Segundo finished the season 23-11.
El Segundo senior Elijah Coles earned All-CIF first team honors.

Carson's Ezekiel Harry and Jacob Ortega were L.A. City Section Division III co-players of the year.
The duo helped lead the Colts to the Division III championship.
Carson coach Kevin Shaw earned coach of the year honors, and Carson's Justin Cooper was also an AllCity first team selection.
Also in Division III, Banning's Bryan Ruiz was an All-City selection
In the Open Division, Westchester's Dillon Chelsea and Khaeden Grady-Asher were All-City selections.
In Division I, San Pedro's Chim Emegwa, Zach Saavedra and Noah Simpson, along with Gardena's Promise Madubugwu were All-City selections.
