Jean Mae Brownhill
September 29, 1933 - January 15, 2021
Jean passed away peacefully at home in Boulder, Colorado. She was our much loved mother, grandmother, aunt, greatgrandmother and friend. She was born in Los Angeles, California to Marjorie Calista
(Young) Brownhill and Raymond Gabriel Brownhill, and was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bette Allene Miller, first-born son Charles Neal Mckinnon III, and long-time partner
Robert Malcolm Farley. She is survived by daughter Lori Jean Mckinnon, son Gregory Jon Mckinnon (Mary) and daughter Kimi Mckinnon Smith (Steven), former husband Dr. Charles N. Mckinnon Jr. (Laure), seven grandchildren, one granddaughter-in-law, and one great-granddaughter. She is survived as well by her feline companion, Marty, as well as many friends. She worked for a number of years as a medical technologist at the Wardenburg Student Health Center at CU. Some of Jean's favorite times were camping, hiking, mushroom hunting, rock hounding, and travel. She had many wonderful trips to Hawaii over the years to visit with her much loved sister, Bette, before Bette's passing. In her recent years her best times were spent with her many friends met through the senior center playing games and socializing, reading, listening to classical music, and visiting with family.
In lieu of flowers, memoriams may be made to either the
Sierra Club or the Nature Conservancy, two of her favorite charities.
A virtual memorial will be held online on Sunday January 24, at 4 pm MT; please contact smithmadisonm@gmail.com for details and to be included. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
