Boulder County reports 26 new cases

Boulder County Public Health repor ted 26 new COVID-19 cases, one new death and four new hospitaliz­ations on Tuesday.

“Unfortunat­ely there will be a new death of a person with COVID-19 in the data update this afternoon,” BCPH spokespers­on Mike Stratton wrote in an email. The death was a resident in their 70s who was not associated with a long-term care facility.

The 26 new cases bring the county’s total cases to 18,659, and the new death brings the county’s total deaths to 246. The four additional hospitaliz­ations bring the county’s total to 536, with 25 residents currently hospitaliz­ed with coronaviru­s. Three residents were discharged Tuesday after receiving COVID-19 treatment.

The University of Colorado Boulder updated its dashboard Tuesday. On Monday, there was one positive test result from 68 diagnostic tests and 1,840 monitoring tests. The dashboard showed there are 14 isolation spaces in use. Since the start of spring testing Jan. 4, there have been 321 positives from 4,934 diagnostic tests and 29,453 monitoring tests.

Boulder Valley School District updated its dashboard Tuesday. The district reported 14 active

cases with 217 students and 30 staf f members in quarantine.

The St. Vrain Valley School District reported on its dashboard Tuesday 29 active cases, split between 21 students and eight staff. The district has seen a cumulative 601 student cases and 226 staf f cases, totaling 827.

Statewide, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environmen­t reported there are 422,390 cases. There have been 5,907 deaths among cases, and of those, 5,802 deaths because of COVID-19 have been recorded. A total of 23,293 people have been hospitaliz­ed. Of Colorado’s more than 5.7 million people, 2,742,555 people have been tested.
