Assault With a Deadly Weapon/Felony Vandalism:

Police responded to the 500 block of Cleveland Street on Oct. 9 at 10:53 a.m. According to police, the victim was driving southbound on Cleveland Street just past Lincoln Avenue when a person broke out his back window and then threatened him with a knife. The suspect, Kristopher Ellasces, 24, of Woodland, then chased the victim threatenin­g to stab him. Ellasces allegedly broke the front windshield of the victim’s vehicle and fled the area. Ellasces was contacted near Sierra and Abele and was hostile while displaying the knife and threatened to stab himself if officers got closer. Ellasces was taken into custody and booked into Yolo County Jail. Attempted Murder: Woodland police reported there was a murder attempt in the 1700 block of Donner Way around 8:37 p.m., Oct. 9, when a person called police to report that 15-year-old had been stabbed in the chest area and was in her backyard. Officers arrived and found that the victim had been stabbed and allegedly battered by Pablo Martinez, a 52-year-old Woodland resident. Officers cleared the house, backyard, and neighborin­g yards, but were unable to locate Martinez. A short blood trail was located in the area. Martinez was not located. The victim sustained non-life-threatenin­g injuries to his face and chest.

Burglary Arrest: At 9:14 a.m., on Oct. 13, in the 200 block of Fourth Street officers contacted Daniel Garber, a 37-year-old Woodland resident, after obtaining surveillan­ce from a vehicle burglary that occurred around 5 a.m. Garber was at 207 Fourth St. with most of the stolen property from the earlier burglary and additional property that was believed to be stolen. The property was returned to owner who also said that three fishing rods were missing. Garber was booked at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of vehicle burglary. Robbery: At 1:02 p.m., on Oct. 13, police reported that two people entered Hollywood Market at 1321 College St., and stole a large bottle of Hennessy. They then assaulted the store employee causing injury. Officers located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle near 752 Pendegast Circle. Two men were seen leaving the vehicle and entering 752 Pendegast Circle., one of who matched the suspect descriptio­n of a Black male adult with red and black hair. Officers set up a perimeter of the residence and negotiated with the suspect through a third individual for nearly an hour. Eventually, both suspects came out of the residence and were taken into custody.

HOST

The Homeless Outreach Street Team reported it was successful in getting mental health assistance with two individual­s. HOST assisted CHP in posting the islands along I-5 and Hwy. 113 for a planned cleanup next week. This area was accumulati­ng vehicles. HOST has been coordinati­ng movement or towing of the vehicles. There is a continued effort to get the field by Walmart cleaned up. Six businesses were contacted. HOST contacted 92 Homeless individual­s offering services to 15 of them. Fifteen people accepted the services. HOST documented 33 camps this week and cleaned up 11 of them. HOST issued four citations and made five arrests.
