Let Trump remain in office
Oh PUH- LEEZ, Trump Must Go? Do we need to cap the bitter election aftermath with a glorious emasculation some think Trump so egregiously deserves? Do we need Pelosi giving away more “historic” pens used to sign the latest impeachment declaration? Do we really need more political theater?
Trump will be gone anyway in 11 days or less. It just seems like so much “stick the knife in and twist it.” Where is Kamala Harris to post bail for those who were arrested like she did in Minneapolis? It was a double standard when the media and so many politicians stayed silent or gave tacit approval, or even supported the riotous destruction of cities in the name of BLM and Defund the Police, but now claim the high ground with the capitol invasion.
This time the media isn’t reporting the huge numbers of protesters who didn’t enter the capitol building and were peaceful.
Trump is a coward and a wimp for planning to not be at the inauguration for the important visual of “the peaceful transfer of power.” For that I am ashamed of him.
But an 11th hour impeachment or 25th Amendment action is also wrongheaded. The country isn’t going to heal any faster if we take the attitude of prosecuting Trump in the 11th hour when there are so many more productive things government could be doing. Let’s focus instead on supporting vaccine distribution and targeting financial relief more accurately to the most needy.
Meanwhile, back in California, how about fixing the inaccurately named Employment Development Department? Are we really proud of our single party monopoly performance of progressives here who can’t get one critical function of government in time of crisis to function, i. e. unemployment benefits in a pandemic, to not be a complete disaster of failing to give aid to truly desperate folks while giving out billions to prisoners and compromising citizens to identity theft by mailing social security numbers?
Millions of Californians suffer from a dysfunctional EDD that will not be healed by watching Trump get somehow removed from office even sooner than less than 11 days from now. By the time you are reading this, will he gone in the next few days anyway? Probably...
By the way, I think saying Trump has blood on his hands for COVID- 19 deaths is over the top and a gross oversimplification of the handling of the pandemic.
