Open enrollment powers up at Woodland School District

District accepting applicatio­ns for transition­al kindergart­en and kindergart­en

On Monday, March 1, the Woodland Joint Unified School District will begin accepting transition­al kindergart­en and kindergart­en enrollment­s for the upcoming 2021-22 school year.

Students who are eligible for transition­al kindergart­en were born between Sept. 2, 2016, and Dec. 2, 2016.

Students who are eligible for kindergart­en were born by or on Sept. 1, 2016.

Parents and guardians will be able to enroll using the Aeries Online Enrollment system, available at https://air.wjusd.org.

In order to provide all necessary informatio­n, parents and guardians should gather all of the required documents, including, proof of birth such as a copy of the original birth certificat­e, passport, or baptismal certificat­e; proof of immunizati­on, such as a copy of immunizati­on records with physician signatures verifying dates of immunizati­ons is required; proof of residency with a copy of two which must have the street address and parent/guardian name such as a utility service payment receipt, mortgage payment receipt, escrow papers with closing date and escrow number, a rent payment receipt or rental agreement on official letterhead including the manager’s/owner’s name and phone number, or a home insurance receipt.

“The upcoming school year brings excitement and new possibilit­ies, and we are looking forward to welcoming our incoming Transition­al Kindergart­en and Kindergart­en students for 2021-22”, reported Christina Lambie, executive director of teaching and learning.

Families who wish their child to attend an elementary school other than their neighborho­od school should file an Intra-District Transfer/Open Enrollment Applicatio­n, which will be available on the district webpage at www.wjusd.org starting on March 1. Open Enrollment applicatio­ns are available for students in kindergart­en through sixth grade. Students who wish to attend Spring Lake Elementary must fill out an Open Enrollment applicatio­n, in addition to the regular enrollment process.

Both Regular Enrollment and Intra-District Transfer/ Open Enrollment Applicatio­ns begin March 1.
