Superintendents to discuss education at virtual forum
The Yolo County Office of Education is seeking to connect educators, business leaders and elected officials in a discussion around education and opportunities for Yolo County youth.
In collaboration with its five school districts, YCOE will hold a virtual elected officials and leaders forum on March 3 from 9 a.m to 10:30 a.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear updates from Yolo County superintendents and learn more about educational initiatives occurring throughout the county. All members of the public are invited to attend the forum, which will be accessible via Zoom.
Registration is required in advance at yolocoe. k12oms.org/2495-195120. “During a challenging and unprecedented school year, collaborative partnerships throughout our county have enabled us to continue to leverage resources and increase opportunities for young people to learn in the county,” said YCOE Superintendent Garth Lewis.
The forum will include a brief presentation from educational leaders in the county, including Lewis, Davis Joint Unified Superintendent Dr. John Bowes, Esparto Unified Superintendent Dr. Christina “Christy” Goennier, Washington Unified Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Hildreth, Winters Joint Unified Superintendent Diana Jiménez and Woodland Superintendent Tom Pritchard.
According to the California Department of Education, nearly 22,000 students are enrolled in K-12 public instruction through the five school districts and YCOE.
More information on the event is available on the Yolo County Office of Education website at www.ycoe.org.
