Man killed by West Sacramento police IDed

Yolo County has identified the man killed by West Sacramento Police last week as Adam John Lundt.

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Department has identified the man killed by West Sacramento Police last week as Adam John Lundt, a 24-year-old resident of West Sacramento.

Lundt — whose identity was confirmed by Captain Matt Davis with the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department — was killed by police on Feb. 25 near Riverpoint Court after a person called police to report a man holding a knife.

A Facebook post from the West Sacramento Police Department stated that “officers arrived and contacted an involved vehicle” before the shooting occurred.

“The West Sacramento Fire Department and AMR were in the area following the initial call and attempted life-saving measures,” the police department stated. “Shortly after, the subject was pronounced deceased. No other injuries are reported to officers or bystanders.”

Prior to the post regarding the shooting, the department posted an advisory for the public to avoid the area surroundin­g Reed Avenue, Riverpoint Court and Ikea Court due to “police activity.” They advised that the streets would be closed for several hours.

The West Sacramento Police Department noted that following the Yolo County Officer-Involved Shooting Fatal Incident Protocol, an independen­t investigat­ion by the Woodland Police Department and the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office will take place.
