Prowling: Officers were dispatched to a report of an unknown male on Feb. 28 at 2:41 a.m. around the 1800 block of Branigan Avenue asking the homeowner to open the door. As officers converged on the scene, dispatch updated that the male might be in the backyard. When the first officer arrived on scene, he observed some broken fencing leading into the backyard. Officers contacted and detained Anthony McGinnis, a 29 year-old Elk Grove resident, as he was exiting the backyard of the residence. McGinnis was later arrested and booked at Yolo County Jail for prowling.

Stolen/Recovered Vehicle: Officers took a stolen trailer report from a victim on Coral Drive on Feb. 28 at 2:55p.m. The victim knew the suspect to be Justin Cain, a 40-year-old Woodland resident. Officers located the trailer attached to Cain’s vehicle a short time later behind Walmart on California Street. Cain was contacted and arrested. He had methamphet­amine on his person. Cain was booked into Yolo County Jail. The trailer was recovered and given back to the owner.

Burglary: A suspect broke into the Woodland Police Department impound yard, took a set of tires and rummaged through other vehicles on March 2at 8:20 a.m. While on scene, officers made contact with Michael Mori, a 39-year-old Woodland resident. Mori was arrested for burglary and booked at Yolo County Jail.

Warrant Arrest: On March 3 at 7:23 a.m., officers received informatio­n the warrant suspect James Sanders, a 41-year-old Woodland resident, was inside his apartment on California Street. Sanders is also the individual identified in several porch thefts recently that were captured on video (warrant request submitted). Contact was made with Sanders and he was taken into custody without incident and booked at Yolo County Jail.
