Your bikes can make a big difference in the lives of students and families in need and provide for bike skills education in our community. The Bike Campaign needs your serviceabl­e bikes. The Bike Campaign is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organizati­on whose #1 goal is to increase biking to schools and workplaces. Donated bikes may be dropped off at either of two locations open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday 2 to 5 p.m. In Woodland at Douglass Middle School at First Street at Hays Street and In Davis at The Cannery at 1500 Cannery Ave. east of The Barn. Free bike event at Dingle Elementary School The Bike Campaign will offer a free bike event at Dingle Elementary School, 625 Elm St., on April 17 at 2 p.m., for Woodland Joint Unified School District parents, students and staff. Dingle Elementary encourages everyone to “Bike More. Drive Less.” to create a fun and healthy way to get to school. Those attending are asked to bring bikes and helmets, if possible. Mechanics will also be onsite to service bikes.

Additional­ly, the event will be offering: free bike helmets for those who will be biking to school, five free bikes awarded by a drawing, training to ride a two-wheeled bike, bike skills training and improvemen­ts for bike parking.
