Author of ‘Our Lady of West 74th Street’ celebrates release of final book in series

- Staff report

On Nov. 27, local author Harry Steve Ackley will hold a book signing at the Berryessa Gap Tasting Room in downtown Winters to celebrate the release of his third novel, “The Saint of El Camino Real.” The signing will be from 3-5 p.m. There will be a limited number of books for sale.

Ackley is a graduate of Woodland High School, Cabrillo College, Bethany Bible College and San Francisco State University, where he received a master’s degree in education. After working a short time as a high school English teacher, Ackley transitioned to his present career in communications.

“The Saint of El Camino Real” is the sequel to Ackley’s first two novels, “Our Lady of West 74th Street” and “The Prophet of Shattuck Avenue.” It is the final book in his trilogy about Archangels.

“The Saint of El Camino Real” focuses on the character of Heather Campbell as she begins the fall semester of her third year of college. Moving from Poughkeepsie, New York and transferring to Santa Clara University in California was supposed to mark a new start for Heather, away from her mother and the strange religious experiences of her past. However, as Heather quickly discovers, the things of the spiritual realm have little regard for time or geography.

For further information about the event, contact the Berryessa Gap Tasting room at (530) 795-3201 or visit berryessagap.com. For more information on the novel, visit harrystevenackley.com or email harrystevenackley@gmail.com.

The event at Berryessa Gap will follow Yolo County guidance for taking COVID-19 precautions.
