Yolo County seeks applications for Community Services Action Board
The Yolo County Board of Supervisors is seeking applications for openings on its Community Services Action Board.
According to a county press release, the Community Services Action Board’s mission is to combat poverty by promoting the health, safety, stability and self-sufficiency of lowincome persons residing in Yolo County. The board will advise the Board of Supervisors with the following primary functions:
• Convening bi-monthly meetings to evaluate local progress towards combating poverty in Yolo County.
• Conducting a biannual community needs assessment to identify critical gaps in Yolo County’s social service system.
• Overseeing the provision of services using Community Services Block Grant funds by reviewing project proposals and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on expenditures.
• Monitoring the performance of Community Services Block Grant-funded programs by examining outcome reports and conducting annual site visits.
• Serving as advocates for Yolo County residents living in poverty.
The Community Services Action Board currently has the following vacancies:
• Representatives of the low-income population (may be low-income persons or persons working for an organization serving the low-income population).
• Representative for District 4 — Supervisorial Districts found at www.yolocounty.org (go to: Government > Board of Supervisors).
• Representatives of community-based organizations.
The Community Services Action Board meets in person on the second Tuesday of every other month from 4:30 — 6 p.m. Those interested in serving may complete an application found at www.yolocounty.org (go to Government > Advisory Bodies).
